BL. Morning Glory
(B. nodosa 'Susan Fuchs' FCC/AOS x L. purpurata var. flamea sanguinea)
This easy-to-grow primary hybrid is a remake of the cross registered in 1958 using one of the highest-awarded B. nodosa and the heavily saturated flared L. purpurata var. flamea sanguinea. The hybrid will produce star-shaped pink/lavender flowers with a lip shape heavily influenced by the B. nodosa parent with strong magenta veining. The plant growth has a similar habit to nodosa which is beautiful and robust forming large specimens rather easily.
The flower picture is one of the first-bloomed seedlings from this cross and that has nice flaring on the petals and a 6" petal span.
