Encyclia phoenicea is a favorite of our as we have many clones within our stud collection. We love it for it's color, shape, branching flower spikes, but most of all for its divine chocolate-vanilla fragrance. This hybrid is cross with a phoenicea primary hybrid, Enc. Dark Wings which is Enc. phoenicea x atrorubens (syn. Enc. Royale). The results should strengthen the habits of phoenicea, namely we anticipate a greater branching habit.
