This is a very unique primary hybrid. Cattleya violacea is a compact species that has velvety rich fuschia flowers. Schomburgkia (Myrmecophila) tibicinis is a species that has many ruffled rose-colored to bronze flowers on top of a tall spike. The resulting progeny of this hybrid produces robust plants very much like the Schomburgkia/Myrmecophila parent with moderately tall upright spikes carrying multiple violacea-colored flowers with a hint of ruffling in the sepals and petals from the Schomburgkia parent.
