LC. Jewell’s Sapphire

(L. Amoena ‘Blue Magic’ AM/AOS X C. Joan Landsberg coerulea)

This is a new blue cattleya hybrid we made between Laelia Amoena ‘Blue Magic’ AM/AOS x Cattleya Joan Landsberg coerulea. C. Joan Landsberg has four to five 5” flowers that are distinguished by their clear blue sepal and petal color and excellent shape. The awarded Laelia Amoena ‘Blue Magic’ has very strong shape and growth habit from its Laelia anceps parent and solid blue lip from Laelia pumila. We have high hopes that many of the progeny will have the rounder shape and tepal color while still being displayed well above the foliage.
