C. forbesii x velutina
C. forbesii is a bifoliate species native to Coastal Brazil. It is very easy to grow and bloom. It blooms with several mildly fragrant 4" flowers per inflorescense. C. velutina is another species from Brazil with glossy flowers that are very attractive – the petals and sepals are bronze/yellow with brown spots and the lip has a wide-open central lobe and purple venation. The flowers are also extremely fragrant and have a heavy, waxy substance. We are looking for some great bifoliates from this primary hybrid.
