C. maxima

This is a species native to Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and northern Peru. The clusters of sweetly fragrant flowers are up to 6 inches wide and are a lovely lavender color with fabulous veining in the lip and a trademark brilliant yellow stripe down the center. The parent plant used in the selfing has a particularly compact growing habit and produces intensely dark pink/lavender flowers.
