C. Walter Wolff (C. maxima v. coerulea x violacea v. coerulea)
(C. maxima var. coerulea 'Robert Johnson' x violacea var. coerulea 'Popa Chubby' AM/AOS)
This primary is a primary hybrid using the coerulea forms of the parents. Cattleya maxima var. coerulea has large stems of long-lasting sweetly fragrant baby-blue flowers that have muted veining in the lip and a typical trademark brilliant yellow stripe down the center. The awarded Cattleya violacea var. coerulea used in the cross produces fantastic satiny-textured coerulea flowers with a rich blue lip with a white throat that is touched with a hint of yellow in the center. We anticipate some radiant blue stunners from this pairing.
