This species is native to Mexico and Central America. In nature it grows as a pendulous epiphyte and for this reason, we tend to grow our mature Chysis plants in hanging baskets, although they will also remain growing well in pots. The pendulous flower spike emerges with the new growth and produces many fragrant long-lasting waxy, flowers.
