(syn. Enc. patens) is a species from Brazil. This plant forms large clumps which produces FRAGRANT long lasting 1” flowers. The sepals and petals range from green to olive-green overlaid with reddish-brown and is offset by a white lip frequently veined with pink-purple. This is one of the first Encyclias to bloom in the spring and is a very manageable size with flowers half in the foliage and half above.
