Enc. phoenicea (4N treated)
Species native to Bahamas, Cayman Islands and Cuba. The fragrant flowers are long-lasting on tall spikes. The sepals and petals are dark chocolate/maroon narrowing at the tips highlighting a large lavender lip. The flowers are very fragrant of chocolate/vanilla. The plants tend to like brighter light and less watering that cattleyas or dendrobiums. They grow well in baskets. These seedlings have been treated to produce 4N plants.
