This is a species native to Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. This plant can get quite large as it is a rare climbing cane-type reedstem Epidendrum. The unique growth habit produces a new reed-like stem at a node in the previous stem and send out roots. The pendulous inflorescences will produce up to 30 dark maroon flowers per blooming.
