This miniature Mexican species is not commonly found in many orchid collections. The plant has slender stem-like psuedobulbs and mottled, fleshy leaves. The long spikes have vivid purple clusters of flowers and are successive bloomers. After the plant flowers, do not cut the spikes as they will continue to produce flowers on the same spike for several years.
