Prosthechea Green Hornet (cochleata x trulla)
Over the years, the genus names keep changing - Prosthechea, Encyclia, Epidendrum, Anacheilium. Regardless of the name, this is a primary hybrid between two unique Mexican species. Psh. cochleata is a more common "cockleshell" orchid, but we have used a particularly fantastic one with long "corkscrew" petals and sepals that has a spicy fragrance in this cross. Psh. trulla is a less common species that has shorter and wider petal and sepal segments that is fragrant. The cross should produce longer segments than Psh. trulla, and slightly wider segments than the Psh. cochleata parent.
